Manufacturing is at the core of the Quad Cities region. In 2010, manufacturing represented 24% of all jobs in the region and 27% of all earnings. Manufacturing jobs grew 32% from 2002 to 2010 - the fastest of any industry sector in the region except for management of companies and enterprises, which grew at 35% over the same time period and is likely to be correlated with the growth in manufacturing.
