Workforce Training
The region's commitment to lifelong learning means that your workforce can continue to develop and expand its skill set for the benefit of your business.Community colleges work with company trainers to develop customized training programs - shortening the time between hiring and profitable productivity. An example incentive is the New Jobs Training Program, which will reimburse the company for up to 50% of the trainee's salaries and fringe benefits while they are learning on the job.
Partners
The Business and Industry Centers of Black Hawk College and Eastern Iowa Community College District are committed to working in partnership with businesses to provide quality customized training and support services. These can be offered either on-site or off, depending on which best meets your requirements. Programs range from skilled technical training and workplace basic skills enhancement to interpersonal skill development and supervisory development, to quality improvement and certification programs for employees. Examples of programs and services already in place that have proven of particular interest to manufacturers include:

Iowa Manufacturing Extension Program:
The Iowa Manufacturing Extension Partnership (IMEP) is a statewide network that provides both free and fee-based technical and business assistance to Iowa manufacturers.
Manufacturing Technology Center:
The Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC) provides modular classes and hands-on training in human resources, technology and industrial development.
Quad City Engineering & Science Council:
The group of technical professionals in the Quad Cities.
Screening:
A customized program of screening applicants is available through both our community colleges.
